WHY USE PRIORITIZING SPEECH THERAPY?
I consider each of my speech clients as part of my extended family and I care for them with the same sensitivity and dedication I would give to someone I love. Just like I would go the extra mile for a family member, I go above and beyond for every individual on my caseload. My client’s progress, confidence and voice matters deeply to me. I take immense pride in every case I work on, approaching each client with intention, empathy and a commitment to excellence. Whether it’s staying up late to fine tune a session plan or finding creative ways to reach a goal, I give nothing less than my best because my clients deserve nothing less.
I understand the demands families face, so I strive to offer flexible-scheduling and convenient options whether in person or virtual to reduce stress and support consistent participation in therapy.
CAN TELETHERAPY OR A HYBRID APPROACH BE EFFECTIVE?
Yes. Research has shown that teletherapy can be just as effective as in-person therapy, with the added benefit of receiving therapy in the comfort of your own home. Teletherapy allows for more flexible scheduling, transportation issues and encourages greater family involvement which facilitates the application of new skills in the individual’s natural environment. A hybrid approach, combines in person individualized therapy with at-home reinforcement.
WHAT DISORDERS DO YOU SPECIALIZE IN?
Although I have vast knowledge in all areas, I specialize in articulation and phonological disorders, orofacial myofunctional therapy, social communication disorders, speech and language therapy for late talkers, children with a variety of developmental disabilities such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), down syndrome, as well as expressive and receptive language disorders. I am also trained in Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC) for Apraxia of Speech.
CAN YOU COACH/TRAIN PARENTS TO UTILIZE SPECIFIC SPEECH-LANGUAGE TECHNIQUES?
Absolutely! I understand therapy can be costly, therefore, I offer affordable training sessions for parents to implement specific techniques at their own pace. I coach the caregiver every step of the way to guarantee positive results. If a child has difficulties learning from a parent or caregiver, then either a hybrid or one-on-one session is recommended. Every case is different and I encourage the family to speak with me so we can decide together what is the best approach for their child.
